Transport safety and umpire boats by trailer from the regatta venue using your own vehicle (must have a hitch) or drive the boat from the regatta (must have PCOC). >This includes hitching up the trailer, driving to the site, backing the trailer into the launch area, and repeating the process in reverse after racing. You may also assist with launching and retrieving the boats at the water's edge. >You'll coordinate with the Site Coordinator on timing and logistics.

Must have a vehicle with a suitable tow hitch and the towing capacity for the assigned boat and trailer (if not driving the boat). Check in with the Volunteer Coordinator on arrival >Must hold a valid driver's licence and be experienced towing a trailer, including reversing and backing down a boat ramp (if towing the boat). >Must hold a valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). >If you are available for collection (after racing concludes) please sign up for that event. >Ensure your vehicle insurance covers towing. Confirm trailer details (size, hitch type, electrical connector) with the coordinator in advance so there are no surprises on the day.

>Inspect the trailer before departure — check tire pressure, lights, hitch lock, safety chains, and that the boat is properly secured with straps and tie-downs. >Drive to conditions — a loaded boat trailer handles very differently from an unladen vehicle, especially on corners and when braking. Use a spotter when reversing down boat ramps and in congested areas. >Be aware of pedestrians, especially children, around the launch area. Wet ramps are extremely slippery — stay in your vehicle as far as possible during launch and retrieval. Chock your wheels on any incline. >Report any trailer or equipment damage to the LOC.
